Wall and warning markings

Warning markings on obstacles and danger points is to be carried out clearly recognisable and permanently by striped safety markings.

The combination of the warning colours black and yellow is to be used primarily for permanent obstacles and danger points (e.g. bump or fall points). In addition, they also mark immovable obstacles. Red and white markings, on the other hand, are used for temporary or movable obstacles and danger points (e.g. excavation pits). The use of reflective markings proves useful in dim areas or when general lighting may fail.

Classical SFS products for wall and warning marking are marking tapes and anti-slip solutions. We divide these into vertical and horizontal marking. Only tapes are used for vertical markings, e.g. our Safety – Wall Extra Strong. It impresses with its flexibility, as it can be stuck around corners and easily removed again. Horizontally, both marking tapes and anti-slip profiles or coverings can be used. Examples of this are the Safety – Floor Ultra Permanent tape, which can be driven over by forklifts, and the individual floor warning markings from SFS as an anti-slip solution.

The ASR A2.1 and ASR A1.3 provide guidelines for the marking of hazards and obstacles. This guideline is valid in Germany and published by the BAuA.
