Company
principles
Our guiding principle is this:
the economy has to serve the people.
Taken from our conviction that only contented customers and employees ensure long-term, sustainable growth, this is the central focus of our business activity and thinking. We dedicate ourselves to this conviction every day. Fairness, trust and ethical action are our prerequisites for a successful partnership with our customers and employees, always striving towards mutual benefit.
Our employees value the work-life balance that working for our company gives them. We are committed to Germany as our base of operations, with the advantages it offers, and pay our own corporation tax and our employees’ income tax here. Instead of extensive compliance rules in our company, we rely on our employees’ common sense.
Environmental protection
Environmental protection declaration
Environmental protection is an elementary building-block of our company policy. Under this banner, we ensure that all relevant legal requirements are implemented and maintained within our company.
All employees are involved in the environmental protection process and encouraged to implement it. To help minimise the burden on the environment, our employees are made aware of environmentally friendly behaviour through training and information.
Products and production processes are optimised with regard to their ecological compatibility and economic viability given the current state of technology. We prefer to manufacture at our headquarters or, externally, within Europe. In this way we can make sure that no more CO2 than is necessary is generated during external production. The majority of our sales are made within Europe. In this way we ensure that the CO2 emitted during transport is minimised. We also value the direct and simple communication we have with our European partners.
We take particular care to use energy as efficiently as possible. Our building is fitted with the latest energy-saving technologies for lighting and hardware. Heating is provided by a highly effective geothermal pump. The electricity needed for this comes from renewable sources.
Our solar panels produce more electricity than we use. The electricity we buy when it is not sunny comes from renewable sources and is obtained regionally on the electricity exchange. In this way we are making an active contribution to decentralised energy acquisition, independent of trans-regional cables. Our net product is CO2 free and therefore climate neutral!
The selection of packaging for our products takes environmental and recycling issues into consideration. We separate our waste for disposal, with recycling already taking priority during the production process.
Our products are regularly inspected for sustainability and in order to substitute hazardous substances. Our production planning ensures optimised material usage even before the start.
Since 2019, our vehicle fleet has only been renewed with vehicles that are at least hybrid. Their charging behaviour corresponds at least to the ECE standard R 101 relevant for calculating petrol consumption. These vehicles are charged almost exclusively with green electricity. The preferred means for business travel is Deutsche Bahn, whose long-distance trains are carbon-neutral. If travel by plane or car is needed, we offset it voluntarily with a payment (currently) of €50/tonne of CO2 via Atmosfair. These contributions are used to finance climate protection projects.
As a result of these measures, our environmental management system is certified to ISO 14001. In many areas, we demand comparable measures from our suppliers.
We emphatically support the climate protection demands of Entrepreneurs for Future and Friday for Futures, underlining this with our own contributions to climate protection.
We are convinced that, in the future, only products that have been produced sustainably with the maximum efficiency of resources will be able to stay on the market. That is why our product development department is always developing our products further.
