A turbulent, eventful and wonderful “Sommer am U” ended the Friday before last. The event Veranstaltung “Sommer am U” combines contemporary art with readings, concerts and poetry slams on the forecourt of Dortmund’s U. The event series took place for the fifth time in a row, but this year in a new, cool and futuristic guise by Dortmund scenographers please don’t touch.
Highlights were set by dazzling, illuminated design elements in cube and panel form, which, depending on the incidence of light, refracted the light through a dichroic colour effect and shone in different colours. The panels, up to two metres high, had to be laminated to be weatherproof and bubble-free – no easy task. SFS was happy to help at this point with technical know-how regarding cleaning, primer selection and application routines and by providing the production equipment. Through technical tests, the right materials could be selected in advance, so that nothing stood in the way of a successful and permanently beautiful Sommer am U.
