Field of application

Walkway profiles from SFS are primarily used for installation in rail vehicles. It is a tactile guiding profile used in the carpet to separate walking and sitting areas. The elevation of the profiles can be felt with a blind person’s stick and stands out visually from the dark carpet. It thus ensures both visually and haptically that areas covered with carpet can be clearly marked and delimited. Furthermore, it contributes to the orientation of people with impaired vision on the train.

The walkway profiles are currently used in the ICE 2 and the ICE 3, among others. There, they are attached in combination with our DB5 dirt trap covering.
